According to Page Six, Channing Tatum denied Monday that he runs the burner Instagram account that has been leaving bitter comments about ex-fiancée Zoë Kravitz and her fiancé Harry Styles. The account follows one person: Tatum, and Tatum follows it back.
One account. One follower. And that follower is the man allegedly behind it. This is not a burner, this is a mailbox with a grudge list. The account's entire job was to shade the ex and stay one follow away from being exposed, which is exactly as far as it stayed.
Then he spent his free time posting about his free time. "Yo, I truly can't believe y'all think this is what I'm doing with my free time," he wrote, and there is the free time, documented, timestamped, in his own words. A 46 year old A-list actor writing a statement about an anonymous account whose username is a play on "none of your business." The account had one job and did it for one follower. The denial did the real work. Every "I truly can't believe" is a press release his fans wrote for him, and the reach just doubled.
His best line answers itself. "Why would I follow a burner account if I didn't want people to connect me to it?" The follow-back is the screenshot that answers that. He is not arguing with the internet. He is arguing with his own profile.
The PR team should bill this as a win. One account, one follower, global headlines, two exes back in the conversation, and a "F*in hilarious" quote that shows up in every article including this one. The denial is the engagement. The engagement is the point.
