Then the quotes, which are a masterclass in PR laundering. "Why take something that is already a heavy topic and make it heavier? It already feels serious, so let it feel fun." That is: shame is a tax, and she has found the loophole. She also says the team told the writers to "dial it down a little bit" because the jokes "really went for it," which is what it looks like when a brand's legal team and a celebrity's reps each hold the punchline by one finger and pull.
