According to Page Six, Scooter Braun shared a rehearsal clip from his former client Todrick Hall's Off-Broadway musical "Midnight" on his Instagram story over the weekend, and the two, who fell out in 2019, are now following each other on Instagram again. Representatives for neither responded to comment requests.
Seven years after Hall, whom Braun managed for six years, told the internet his ex-manager was "an evil person whose (sic) only concern is his wealth and feeding his disgusting ego", the entire peace process is two taps. No statement. No apology tour. No table with chairs. A follow, a reshare, done. Let's call it what it is: the Follow-Back. The longest reconciliation in history, and it fit inside a push notification.
Read the room, though. No peace this sweet without an agenda. "Midnight" is an Off-Broadway show, and Off-Broadway shows live and die on one viral review, and the man whose name is the reason Hall wrote that quote is putting "must watch and must listen" out to his whole feed. The musical is the excuse. The reconciliation is the ad. He did not come back for the music. He came back for the endorsement, and Hall gets to hold the mic.
The funny part is the shelf life. "Disgusting and defamatory," said the other side's exec in 2019. "An evil person," said the client. Now: a follow, a clip, a weekend of soft-focus peace. Nobody in show business holds a grudge past the contract date. Seven years of heat dissolved in one button press, and the whole war paid for itself with a free review of a 4.8-star show on Broadway.com.
YOUR TURN: if a follow is a peace treaty, what exactly does a block mean in 2026?
