According to Variety, Warner Bros.' "Dune: The Experience" opens November 20 in downtown Los Angeles, a one-hour walkthrough of Arrakis with a giant sandworm, and the $250 tier gets you a seat inside the real ornithopter.

The movie comes out December 18. The experience opens four weeks early, runs through December 20, and stays open two days past the premiere, which means the world of Dune will be available for rent to people who have already seen the world. This is the PR machine's endgame. Turn the wait into a second ticket.

The menu does the storytelling. Base entry is $31.50, which gets you the giant sandworm, the Imperial throne room, the Bene Gesserit water-of-life test, and a Fremen message to decipher. There will be failures. The failures will be photographed. The $67 deluxe tier adds a branded water bottle and a tote bag. A water bottle. On a desert planet. The brand team looked at the lore and said hydration. The $250 tier gets you inside the actual ornithopter from the trilogy, a digital photo package, a printed souvenir, and parking.

The venue is 330 S. Alameda Street, produced by Warner Bros. and Legendary in partnership with Fever, which is to say the ticketing app is now a co-producer on a Warner Bros. property. The press cycle for it already ships with a Buy Tickets button inside the coverage, because the story is the sales page and the sales page is the story. Paul Atreides will be king of the Arrakis queue, and the queue is the product.

YOUR TURN: The $67 tier includes a branded water bottle. At what price does a prop become a SKU, and who is paying $250 for parking on a desert planet?
