According to Puck, "multiple sources" now confirm that Jay-Z will headline the 2027 Super Bowl LXI halftime show, with an official announcement "expected soon." Roc Nation has held the halftime selection contract since 2019, and the man who has never once booked himself for the slot he controls is reportedly now booking himself for it.

Jay-Z owns Roc Nation, Roc Nation picks the headliner, and the headliner is Jay-Z, which makes this the only headline performance a man can land through his own agency. It reportedly arrived without a single competing bid he could not veto, and the short list that existed for months is now a footnote: Harry Styles, Justin Bieber, and Miley Cyrus, whose Hollywood Bowl shows this past weekend are already being described as a dress rehearsal she will not need.
If Jay-Z's name goes up in the stadium signage, Beyonce is effectively a special guest at that point. That would be her third halftime appearance, following the 2013 headlining run and the 2016 cameo, and the guest list would read like a roster call from his own management floor: Rihanna, J.
