Alexander Skarsgard wore Saint Laurent's transparent "O.Fan" oxfords, named after OnlyFans, to the BFI London Film Festival screening of "Wicker" on Oct 8, according to E!.

The shoe is from the French house's Spring 2027 line: a clear PVC oxford with a black sole and matching laces, and the name is O.Fan. Shoe design director Corrado De Biase told WWD it was "a joke," inspired by "the new obsession in the gay community," which is "feet on OnlyFans," and he added that he does not understand "why men are so afraid to show their feet." A luxury brand named a shoe after a subscription platform, then explained the joke in a fashion trade paper. The brand statement was the shoe.

Skarsgard, 50, walked the BFI carpet with one foot forward and both soles on display. Last year it was thigh-high leather boots at Cannes. This year it is an oxford you can see through. The red carpet is a product launch, and the actor is the display stand.

Here is the trick: nobody has to buy a pair for the whole world to see them. Getty took the photo, every outlet on earth republished it for free, and Saint Laurent got a global ad campaign paid for by paparazzi electricity. OnlyFans provided the name, the maison provided the shoe, and the red carpet provided the money. It is a supply chain with no receipt. YOUR TURN: What is the most extreme shoe you have ever worn to a premiere, a first date, or your own kitchen?
