"CSI" creator Anthony Zuiker used his MIPCOM Cannes keynote to unveil Cinemalistics, a real-time true-crime app that follows live cases through twenty tabs of police reports, 911 calls and court filings, per Deadline. His opening line: "The CSI guy is dead. Welcome to my autopsy."

Nine hundred eleven episodes of the same procedural, a franchise valuation he quoted off the top of his head, and now the CSI guy wants to stream actual murders as they happen. Twenty tabs. Blinking live-file indicators. Autopsy filings at your fingertips. The writers' room research pipeline, per his own keynote: Reddit, Yahoo, the Daily Mail and TMZ. The comment section as a business plan.

Read the pitch. "Not a streaming service, a news site or a documentary studio. A completely new category." That sentence is a list of every format that already died, all buried under one app. MIPCOM's own release calls him a visionary storyteller, which is exactly what this is: a story machine for other people's crimes, running on Nvidia AI and a venture fund from an ex-CAA agent. The "age of understanding," in his words. The understanding comes with a subscription.

Then there is the roadmap. If crime alone can't sustain the brand, twelve more genres are queued: sport, breaking news, politics, scandals, natural disasters. Plus a proposed app called Cinemalistics Sussex tracking Prince Harry and Meghan, because, in his words, they "keep giving us sequels nobody ever ordered." The CSI guy is dead. What he left behind is the format: a man in a suit telling you he quit pitching, while pitching.

YOUR TURN: Live-streamed true crime, twenty tabs per case, and the CSI guy's own autopsy to kick it off. How many months before you cancel?
